WISFF catches up with Jehan Madhani, the talented filmmaker behind last years Best Student Film award.
Can you tell me a little bit about ‘Frogboy’ and what made you want to tell this story?
Honestly, it started because I very much wanted to draw a bear wearing a shirt and tie and flipping pancakes. I had a distinct image that I wanted realized. From that image, the (very short) story grew. I also really love making people laugh, and FrogBoy did that, while allowing me to reach a far greater audience.
Are you working on anything new at the moment?
I’m exploring comedy through different media– I’m now writing sketch comedy with a group on campus. I keep busy with different animation, writing, and film classes, as well as extracurriculars with a similar focus. I’ve tried to branch out into stop-motion animation as well.
